Last Harvest

Last harvest of the year from the garden.

I was able to get lots of carrots, beets and spaghetti squash.  I only was able to grow 3 little pumpkins – which is a good thing there were 3 so that the kiddos wouldn’t fight!

I LOVE pulling my carrots out and seeing the crazy things they have been doing in the dirt…  img_6560

And the beautiful colors…img_6561

Uhhh, this one…kids cover your eyes!img_6562

Lots of carrots…and img_6563

Lots of beets! img_6567 img_6571

I also harvested my hollyhock plants!   I LOVE hollyhocks and have them all over my yard.  I took off all those little bulbs from the plants and now I can grow millions more hollyhocks.  Each one of these bulbs have 50+ seeds inside.  Yea…I have a bunch.  Maybe I could sell seeds for a side job???  Just an idea.img_6572 img_6573

Overall the garden was a hit this year.  It started out as one of my best gardens ever….then it went down hill when the deer was coming in for its nightly snacks…but after I took care of that problem it ended on a high note.  I love being able to grow my own food!  Next year I have big plans.  I can’t wait!
