That Night

That same night I put the baby chicks in with the big girls, havoc broke loose.  I’m not quite sure what happened, but I had gone to a baseball game and wouldn’t be home until 11pm…way past dark.  I knew the babies didn’t know what to do to get into the coop so I was hoping they would huddle and wait for me to get home.  Turns out my husband was able to get home before me and so I asked him to take each baby into the coop…he could only find 2 chicks where I had left them!  He searched and searched and eventually found them all…I’m not sure if they got spooked or freaked out or what happened but they all scattered and flew all over the place.  It was a search and find for my husband…thankful he was home and was able to find them all!

Chick 1 and 2 were huddled together where I left them.

Chick 3 found in the rafter (this is high up!)

He could not find chick 9 for nothing…then finally spotted her in a tree outside of the coop.  These babies were NOT getting attacked tonight.

All snug and safe with the big girls in the coop.
