Turning the Goat Cage into the Chick Run

Last time I introduced new little chicks I only had a couple and I made them a little “nursery” in the big girl coop so they could get used to each other and then I integrated them after a couple weeks.  It worked out great…but now since we have so many little chicks (still 19) – it would not work to make a nursery in the big girl coop…it would take up the whole thing!  They will need a bigger place to run…luckily we have an area already fenced off with the cutest little pallet house in it.  It used to be our pygmy goat cage.  Then we turned it into a dog run…but our dog ran away 🙁  So it has been empty for over a year now.  It was perfect to make into our 2nd chicken coop for the littles.

All the hubs had to do was make a door to close it up at nights, he ran electrical for the heat lamp for the first couple weeks, and I laid fresh pine shavings down for them at night.  It is going to be perfect after I clean it and get it ready!
