Baby Chicks Have Left the Nest

Since we only had to make a door and make sure the fencing was secure, we were able to get the small coop ready for the littles quickly.  It was perfect timing because they had grown out of their 3 tub complex and were ready to stretch!  I put them outside when they were 5 week old.

They were scared to death at first.  I left them in the coop for the first day to get used to it and then the next day I opened the door and let them roam.  They have become quite the explorers and quite the escape artists.  I can’t figure out how one keeps getting out!  I have put up more netting and went through the fencing again to make sure it was all attached…but there is one little red that keeps getting out (and then can’t get back in).

They are loving this life so much better!  I love it too!  One thing I do not like are animals in cages that are too small for them!  This little coop is going to be perfect for the littles.    IMG_3712 IMG_3715 IMG_3716 IMG_3718
